“It was shockingly effective. SmartWater was a game-changer. Thank you for supporting Florida Hospital with your product.”
Over the subsequent 7-day period, Florida Hospital conducted 12 more comprehensive Ebola training exercises at all our hospital campuses in Central Florida, which included drills at eight Emergency Departments and four Obstetrics Units. The CDT product was used in two ways during all of these exercises. First, the CDT lotion was applied to the skin and clothing of our role player patients to simulate contact tracing of the patient with healthcare workers and all furniture, fixtures and equipment. Second, we used the CDT spray to simulate the potential transference of bodily fluids from coughing or sneezing.
Because it is are colorless and odorless, the CDT product realistically models the transfer of harmful bacteria from one person, object or place to another. At the conclusion of the scenarios, we used the UV light to identify where cross-contamination occurred, which provided leaders and front line staff immediate feedback on cross-contamination incidents. The result was a clear identification of vulnerabilities in our protocols and personnel protective equipment procedures.
The ability to see the CDT markers with your unique UV light during the daytime, without needing total darkness to reveal the results, was critical in capturing real-time, accurate data at each site along the patient’s pathway. The CDT product was very well received by our clinicians, administrators, trainers, educators, disaster planners, and safety team. It was shockingly effective and instantly revealed things we could fix on the spot in our infection prevention procedures. In short, the CDT product was a game-changer; and we plan to use it in all future infectious disease exercises.
Thank you for the opportunity to work with SmartWater CSI and take advantage of testing your impressive product.
